Dear Skip,
People who are not in the wedding industry often do not understand the critical importance of certain components…….like the music. In fact, they erroneously believe that as long as there is music playing, the event will be a success. You and I know that is not the case.
As an event director, I work with many music vendors. I’ve seen the best….and, sadly, I’ve seen….well….those that weren’t. You, Skip, are among the elite. Your ability to continually read the atmosphere, understand the guests’ preferences, keep the celebration at a peak, and send people off to their various destinations with a “Man, that was a GREAT time!” is extraordinary.
Knowing you would be providing the music for my own son’s wedding, I was elated. As it turned out (and I knew it would), the dancing was non-stop, the laughter and energy was palpable, and the selections were such that there was something for everyone throughout the evening. (Your special surprise for “YMCA” was over the top, by the way.)
I will continue to sing your praises to anyone who will listen. I will encourage any couple looking for a DJ for their wedding to call you first. You are a talented, seasoned, fun professional who knows what he’s doing. In my book, as long as Skip Barrus of Soundwaves is playing the music, the event will not only be successful, it will be “off the charts!”
